On 11th November 2023, a remarkable event took place in Islamabad, Pakistan, where representatives of different ISPs (Internet Service Providers) gathered to discuss various issues and challenges facing the industry. The event was hosted by Shahzad Arshad, CEO of Jhelum Networks Pvt Ltd, Shoaib Ahmed Khan, CEO of Netbiz Broadband Pvt Ltd, and Furqan Naveed Ahmed, CEO of Infosol Technologies Pvt Ltd, on the platform of Wireless & Internet Service Providers Association (WISPAP).

WISPAP is an association that aims to promote and protect the interests of wireless and internet service providers in Pakistan. It also seeks to create a conducive environment for the growth and development of the sector, as well as to facilitate the exchange of information and best practices among its members.

The meeting was attended by a large number of ISPs from different regions of the country, including Mubashir Shahzad of Waylink Pvt Ltd, Saif ur Rehman Kayani of Elite Communication Pvt Ltd, Imran Mustafa of Lazer Fiber Communication GujarKhan, Ali Raza of Century Hub Pvt Ltd Chakwal, Shahzad Ahmed Baksh CEO of Smart Multimedia Pvt Ltd Lahore, UMAR from Lahore Online Pvt Ltd Lahore, Muhammad Arshad Awan of WI-Link Communication Pvt Ltd Choa Saidan Shah (Chakwal), Engr Major (R) Khawja Sohail of Galaxy Vision Pvt Ltd, Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah from Absolute Solutions Pvt Ltd, Malik Zahid Iqbal o ... , Ahtisham Nasir of Netgate Pvt Ltd, Rehman Qaiz Khan of Clickpick Communication Pvt Ltd, Ghulam Murtaza from Sawera Internet Pvt Ltd, Najam Zia from Ultralink Pvt Ltd and many more. Some of the participants also joined the meeting online via video link, who were not able to attend the meeting in person due to personal circumstances.

The meeting covered a wide range of topics, such as licensing, interconnect, bandwidth, right of way, legal body issues, accounting, issues with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), completion of core committee membership, criteria of board memberships of association, etc. The participants shared their views and experiences on these issues and gave constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement. The meeting also highlighted the achievements and future plans of WISPAP, such as establishing legal and accounting teams, organizing workshops, seminars, and training sessions for its members.

The meeting was a great success, as it provided a valuable opportunity for the ISPs to network, collaborate, and learn from each other. The meeting also demonstrated the commitment and enthusiasm of WISPAP to serve the interests of its members and the industry. The participants expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the hosts and the organizers for arranging such a fruitful and productive event. They also expressed their hope and confidence that WISPAP will continue to play a vital role in the advancement and prosperity of the wireless and internet service providers in Pakistan.
